Harry Potter Series: HBO‘s announcement for its upcoming Harry Potter series has been pouring in since filming officially began. Following the first look at newcomer Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, the makers have now unveiled the first glimpse of Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid in the highly anticipated Harry Potter reboot. The Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz actor is stepping into the shoes of late actor Robbie Coltrane, who portrayed Hogwarts' gamekeeper and groundskeeper in the original Harry Potter film series.

Nick Frost As Hagrid In Harry Potter Series

HBO Max on Tuesday surprised fans with another look at the character in the Harry Potter series. They introduced Nick Frost as Hagrid on Instagram along with a caption that read, "Everyone ready? ‘ere we go! Nick Frost has walked his first day in the big boots of Hagrid on the set of the new HBO Original Harry Potter series." The photo features Nick Frost in a Hagrid’s iconic shaggy coat, along with his wild beard and hair. He can be seen standing outside Hagrid’s iconic hut near the Forbidden Forest. However, Frost’s first look received a mixed response on social media.

One user commented, "I love Nick Frost and he’s a great choice for this role. But… the wig and beard look very unnatural. Makeup artists needs a bit more work on this. It’s a bit cosplaylike."

Another user posted, "Don't destroy our imagination!"

Anothr comment read, "Every photo that comes out just looks like the actor doing a Halloween costume of a movie character we already have seen and love."
