No suicide note was discovered at the scene. Just days before the tragic incident, the adult film star had shared a happy photo of herself enjoying a beach outing in Florida. Having left the pornography industry long ago, Kagney had established a pole dancing studio in Ohio and maintained a strong presence in the community. The Gofundme description provided by Kagney's family details her ongoing struggle with mental health issues over the years. Neither the family nor the police have made any further comments regarding the matter.

In a touching GoFundMe campaign initiated by her close friends to assist Kagney's mother, Tina, with the costs associated with her memorial, Kagney was depicted as more than just a performer. She was remembered as a singer, a dancer, a daughter, and a friend. "Kagney was a woman who wore many hats; she was a performer, a singer, a dancer, a daughter, and a friend. She first came to our Cleveland studio in November of 2019, freshly moved out of L.A., rearing and ready to jump back in to pole, in a brand new community where she knew no one and no one knew her."
