FRIENDS star Jennifer Aniston recently got candid about her struggles with infertility. She even spoke about her decision of not wanting to adopt a child, stating, "I want my own DNA in a little person." Jenniger got emotional while talking about parenthood, saying that the thought of being a parent comes but it goes away within seconds.
In a conversation with Harper's Bazaar UK, Aniston said, "They didn't know my story or what I'd been going through over the past 20 years trying to pursue a family, because I don't go out there and tell them my medical woes. That's nobody's business. But there comes a point when you can't not hear it - the narrative about how I won't have a baby, won't have a family, because I'm selfish, a workaholic."
"All the years and years and years of speculation were really hard. I was going through IVF, drinking Chinese teas, you name it. I was throwing everything at it. I would've given anything if someone had said to me, 'Freeze your eggs. Do yourself a favour.' You just don't think about it. So here I am today. The ship has sailed," she further added.
Opening up on not considering adoption, Jennifer said, "I want my own DNA in a little person. That's the only way, selfish or not, whatever that is, I've wanted it."
The actress opened up about parenthood, her voice trembling with emotion as she shared the unexpected journey she's on. "It just wasn't in the plan, whatever the plan was," she revealed, her words hanging in the air. She spoke candidly about the emotional rollercoaster, especially when medical professionals utter those definitive words: "that's it." There's a strange, unsettling moment that follows, she confessed. One moment, the thought of becoming a parent crosses her mind, and the next, it's gone, vanishing within three seconds, leaving her wondering what the future holds.
On the professional front, Jennifer Aniston's upcoming projects include a TV series based on Jennette McCurdy's memoir, a starring role in the film Hail Mary, a potential Broadway production, and a reimagining of the film 9 to 5 that she is producing. She is also slated to star in a new film from director Sophie Goodhart and continue her role on The Morning Show.
