Constantine 2 Updates: Keanu Reeves, who impressed fans with his role as John Constantine, is expected to return with Constantine 2. The sequel to the 2005 film appears to be in the early stages, as details shared by DC Studios co-head and filmmaker James Gunn. Earlier, Reeves revealed that the team had been working on the film for over a decade, putting together a story and pitching it to DC studios. Amid sequel pitch buzz, Gunn has dropped a major update about Constantine 2, confirming he has spoken with Keanu Reeves about the project. He also shared that he has not read the script yet.

During his appearance on the BobaTalks podcast, Gunn opened up about the possible follow-up to the 2005 film starring Keanu Reeves. He said, "I’ve discussed it on and off. I’ve discussed it with Keanu." The filmmaker added, “But I have not read any script yet.”
Keanu Reeves On Pitching Constantine 2 Story To DC
Reeves said, as quoted by Deadline, "We’ve [along with director Francis Lawrence] been trying to make this film for over a decade, and we just recently put a story together and pitched it to DC Studios and they said, ‘OK.’ So, we’re going to try and write a script.”
The film’s director, Francis Lawrence, in an interview with Collider, has also shared details for the sequel. He added, “We have gone through a bunch of the comics over the years and looked at things. In the back of our minds for 20 years and just kind of percolating on ideas, and stories and characters we love, and ideas we love.”

About Constantine
The first instalment starring Reeves as John Constantine was released in 2005. This story is loosely based on the DC Comics/Vertigo Comics’ Hellblazer series. John Constantine is a man with the ability to see the visage of half-angels and half-demons. He is a chain-smoking cynic and suffers from terminal lung cancer. The film also starred Rachel Weisz, Shia LaBeouf, and Tilda Swinton. The script was penned by Kevin Brodbin and Frank Cappello.
