The final season of Stranger Things is one of the most highly anticipated chapters in the series. With its returning cast and plot twist, it has been creating quite a buzz. However, fans were left disappointed after the news broke that Joseph Quinn, who played the role of Eddie Munson, would not be returning from the dead in Stranger Things Season 5. Despite the rumours of his comeback, the Duffer brothers have confirmed that Quinn will not be part of the hit Netflix show’s final season.

Joseph Quinn’s Eddie Munson Not In Stranger Things 5

In a recent interview with Empire, Matt Duffer said, “I love that Joe Quinn is toying with people! But no, he’s dead. Joe is so busy anyway, that everyone should know he’s not coming back. He’s shot like five movies since! When the hell has he got time to come and shoot ‘Stranger Things’? No, sadly, RIP. He’s fully under that ground.”

Earlier, Joseph Quinn, who rose to fame from Stranger Things and later starred in Gladiator II and The Fantastic Four: First Steps, reacted to speculation about his character's return. During a fan convention in Belgium, he said, as quoted by Variety, “I do know, but I’m not telling you”

The character of Eddie Munson, a metalhead and high school outsider, played by Joseph Quinn, became a fan favourite in Season 4 of Stranger Things for his sacrifice. His death scene, in which he distracts the Demobats, allowing the rest of the group to fight Vecna, remains one of the most talked-about moments in the Netflix series.

The Duffer brothers also talked about the addition of new Hawkins residents in the final season of Stranger Things. Terminator star Linda Hamilton joins the cast as a government agent hunting down Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown).

Revealing details about her role, Matt Duffer said, “She’s hyper-intelligent and intimidating. She’s a scientist but if she needs to, she can get into a fight and shoot a gun.”
