Only Murders In The Building Season 5 Release Date

Hulu on Wednesday announced that Season 5 of its Emmy-winning comedy Only Murders in the Building will debut on the streamer starting September 9 with three episodes. The remaining will be rolling out weekly. In India, viewers can watch the series on JioHotstar. Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez announced the same on Instagram.

The announcement clip showcases the lead trio with their signature comedic charm. Selena Gomez can be seen delivering her lines. Steve Martin bursts into laughter while attempting to say his own name. To this, Selena asks, “Why are you laughing at me?" to which Martin replies that he is not laughing at her but trying to remember his lines, prompting Martin Short to quip, “What, life?". After this playful banter, they announce the premiere date.

Only Murders in the Building has received rave response from both audiences and critics alike since its 2021 debut, garnering an impressive milestone of 49 Emmy nominations and seven wins to date. With seven new nods for the 2025 Emmys, including Best Comedy Series, the show continues to shine and is gearing up for its fifth season.

The official synopsis of Season 5 read, "After their beloved doorman, Lester (Teddy Coluca), dies under suspicious circumstances, Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short), and Mabel (Selena Gomez) refuse to believe it was an accident. Their investigation plunges them into the shadowy corners of New York and beyond — where the trio uncovers a dangerous web of secrets connecting powerful billionaires, old-school mobsters, and the mysterious residents of the Arconia. The trio discovers a deeper divide between their storied city they thought they knew and the new New York evolving around them — one where the old mob fights to hold on as newer, even more dangerous players emerge.”
