New Wonder Woman: The buzz surrounding the future of Wonder Woman has reached new heights. It seems that DC Studios head James Gunn is eyeing a new Wonder Woman for the upcoming feature film, which is currently in the works. Recently, he revealed that he thinks actress Adria Arjona would be a perfect fit for this iconic role. The iconic character, which was previously played by Gal Gadot, whose performance was widely applauded by the critics.

James Gunn, who is known for delivering some hit superhero film, recently sat down for a conversation with Extra and shared details about his latest project. During this, it turned out he's got his eyes on Hit Man fame Adria Arjona as a new Wonder Woman for his DC Universe. Gunn spilt some exciting details about where he think she can fit into his revamped DC plans.

He said, as quoted by Variety, "I follow Adria on Instagram, but everybody came out [and thought], ‘He just followed her, that means she’s Wonder Woman." He didn't stopped there, he praised her by saying, "She’d be a great Wonder Woman, by the way.”

He further added by saying, “She was in a movie that I made seven years ago. We’ve been friends and have known each other since that time. I followed her then, I didn’t just follow her.”

Earlier, in an interview, James Gunn shared that a new Wonder Woman is in the works and script is being crafted. He also shared how the upcoming instalment will complement an HBO series, focusing on the mystical world of Themyscira, Wonder Woman's homeland.

The DC Universe has several films in development. Apart from the new Wonder Woman movie, other projects include James Gunn's directorial Superman starring David Corenswet, which is slated to release on 11 July. DC is not limited to Wonder Woman and Superman but also expanding the slate with films, such as Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, directed by Craig Gillespie, scheduled for June 2026 release and next in the list is Clayface, which is going to delve into the origin story of Batman's iconic villain. Directed by James Watkins with a screenplay penned by Mike Flanagan and Hossein Amini.
