Sydney Sweeney is gearing up to portray the iconic boxer Christy Martin in the biopic Christy and she has shared some exciting insights into her experience working on the film. The actress recently spoke about how Christy's character has inspired her in real life, showcasing the profound impact this role has had on her.

During a special screening of the film in West Hollywood on October 11, Sweeney opened up about her learnings from the project. She said during the special screening, "It taught me a lot about myself, actually, throughout the entire process. She taught me how to stand up for myself more and feel stronger in my personal life and my work life. We both fight our own fights in different types of rings, and, yeah, check in on your friends and make sure they’re all okay."

Previously, during a post-screening Q&A at HIFF, Sweeney shared, "She kind of became my best friend. Having her with us was a really powerful experience." Talking about Christy Martin’s presence on the set, Sweeney shared, "I just wanted her there the entire time because I was able to study her and listen to her and have her thoughts and opinions there whenever I needed."
