Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Sunday criticised U.S. President Joe Biden for labelling him an illegal immigrant, asserting that 'puppet Biden is lying'. At an event in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, President Biden took a jab at Elon Musk, referring to him as a ‘Trump ally’ and jokingly labelling him as the ‘wealthiest man in the world’ who turned out to be an ‘illegal worker’. Biden remarked that Musk was supposed to be attending school under a student visa when he first arrived in the US, highlighting that he was not complying with the terms of his visa and was therefore ‘violating the law’.

Biden stated, "The wealthiest man in the world turned out to be an illegal worker when he was here," referencing Musk's early years in America when he allegedly violated immigration laws. The President's remarks were in response to Musk's support for Donald Trump's anti-immigration policies, which Musk has actively promoted on X, warning against 'open borders' and undocumented immigrants.

In response to Biden's comments, Musk took to X to rebut, stating, “So NOW he cares about illegals.”

‘Losing Election Is Making Them Desperate’

Elon Musk expressed that Democrats favour importing voters who are loyal to them while opposing legal immigrants who may vote against their interests, describing it as a straightforward issue of incentives.

In response to the new allegations, Musk stated, “I was on a J-1 visa that converted to an H1-B. They are aware of this, as they have all my documentation. Their desperation is a result of losing the election.”

While campaigning for Trump, he likened the US-Mexico border situation to a 'zombie apocalypse', despite previously labelling himself as 'extremely pro-immigrant', citing his own immigrant background.

A recent report by The Washington Post reveals that Elon Musk, originally from South Africa, worked in the US without legal authorisation in the 1990s while co-founding Zip2, his first venture in Silicon Valley. Musk entered the country on a student visa to attend Stanford University but reportedly left the program within days, losing his legal right to work.
