President Donald Trump once again finds himself at the centre of controversy after he appeared to ogle a female reporter during a White House press interaction on Tuesday and remarked that he “liked to watch her talk.” The incident unfolded during a joint appearance with Argentina’s president, drawing immediate backlash online for being “misogynistic” and “demeaning.”
During the meeting, Trump was taking questions from reporters when a female journalist attempted to ask about China’s growing influence in Latin America. “As China defends its presence in Latin America, what role do you see for the US?” she asked.
Instead of answering, Trump turned to Vice President JD Vance and said, “I just like to watch her talk.” He then looked back at the reporter and added, “Good job. Thank you, darling.” His comment, captured on camera, quickly went viral and was criticised as belittling and unprofessional.

Repeated Pattern Of Inappropriate Remarks
This is not the first time Trump has been accused of making inappropriate comments toward women. Just days earlier, aboard Air Force One while returning from his Middle East trip, he made remarks about White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt’s lips.
“That face… and those lips, they move like a machine gun,” he said, drawing comparisons to a previous interview in August where he commented, “It’s that face, it’s that brain, it’s those lips, the way they move.”
Despite widespread criticism, Leavitt appeared unfazed during press briefings, maintaining professionalism amid Trump’s repeated awkward compliments.
The incident adds to a growing list of moments where Trump has made comments about women in public settings. At the Gaza peace summit in Egypt earlier this week, he referred to Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni as a “beautiful young woman” in front of other world leaders.
“We have a woman, a young woman who’s… I’m not allowed to say it because usually it’s the end of your political career if you say it: she’s a beautiful young woman,” Trump said, gesturing toward Meloni. “You don’t mind being called beautiful, right? Because you are.”
