Erika Kirk, the grieving widow of Charlie Kirk, revealed that she wears the blood-stained pendant of St. Michael that her husband was wearing when he was fatally shot at a Turning Point USA event in Utah less than two weeks ago. The small icon, with traces of blood in the crevices of the cross, was removed from Kirk’s body by medics as they attempted to save him, Erika told The New York Times.

The 36-year-old widow said she and others close to her husband had heard him suggest before that he might face a violent death. The pendant has since become a deeply personal memento of Charlie Kirk’s life and sacrifice.

Trump Leads Tributes At Memorial Service

US President Donald Trump is set to lead tributes to Charlie Kirk  during a large memorial service held at a stadium honoring the late right-wing influencer. As he left the White House to fly out west, Trump described the service as “to celebrate the life of a great man. Really a great man.” He added, “Will be a very interesting day. A very tough day.”

Trump also credited Kirk for transforming college campuses, saying, “He did a tremendous job, and he had a hold on youth because they loved him. If you go back 10 years, those colleges were dangerous places for conservatives and now they're hot. They're very hot, just like this country is hot.”

Vice President JD Vance Pays Tribute

US Vice President JD Vance shared a heartfelt message ahead of the memorial, calling Kirk a “dear friend.” “Last week, we brought my dear friend Charlie Kirk home one last time. Today, we return to Arizona to remember Charlie and honor his sacrifice. May he eternally rest in peace, and may God watch over Erika and their beautiful children,” Vance wrote on X.

Stadium Filling For Memorial

The memorial venue is rapidly filling as attendees arrive to honour Kirk’s life and legacy. Both the first and second tiers of seating are full, with the uppermost level beginning to fill as lines of attendees continue to snake through the stadium. Fans, colleagues, and supporters are gathering to pay their respects, creating an atmosphere charged with grief, reflection, and tribute.
