Charlie Kirk assassination: Erika Kirk, the widow of slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk, has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer and Chair of the Board of Turning Point USA, the youth organization her late husband co-founded. The announcement came just days after Charlie Kirk was shot dead while addressing students at Utah Valley University.
The board of Turning Point USA said the decision was unanimous and in line with Kirk’s own wishes expressed before his death. “Charlie prepared all of us for a moment like this. The movement will not die,” Erika Kirk told supporters in her first statement as CEO.
Turning Point USA, headquartered in Phoenix, has been one of the fastest-growing conservative youth organisations in America, focusing on schools and universities. With Erika Kirk at the helm, the organisation has promised continuity and resilience despite the sudden leadership change. “Charlie Kirk may be gone, but his vision continues. Erika Kirk now has the responsibility of carrying it forward,” the organization said in a statement.
Who Is Erika Kirk?
Erika Kirk, 36, brings with her a mix of professional, social, and philanthropic experience. Before stepping into her husband’s shoes at Turning Point USA, she was already a known face in conservative and faith-based circles.

Charlie Kirk, a prominent 31-year-old right-wing activist and close aide of US President Donald Trump, was killed on September 10 when a gunman opened fire during his campus event. Authorities identified the suspect as Tyler Robinson, 22, who was arrested the next day after confessing to his father. Prosecutors have confirmed they will seek the death penalty. Kirk’s death drew nationwide mourning in conservative circles. Trump ordered flags to fly at half-staff, while Vice President JD Vance personally accompanied Kirk’s body back from Utah.
