Made By Google Event: Google Assistant has been used across the globe on Android devices by several users for over seven years. In the latest move, it is now set to get supercharged via artificial intelligence and generative AI capabilities from Bard, Google's popular AI model that competes with OpenAI's ChatGPT in the AI verse. The company aims to make the experience "intuitive, intelligent, personalised" with this overhaul. This will use Google's Bard AI generative and reasoning skills to offer help.
Testers can use the revamped Assistant to interact with text, images and voice and take action. It will be available on Android and iOS devices on a limited basis in the coming months. Assistant with Bard will have integration with Google apps like Gmail and Docs to get things done fast using AI in a personalised way.
In an instance shared by the business, Assistant with Bard was told to write captions (or a social media post) for photos using conversational overlay. The virtual AI can comprehend the "visual cue, understand the context," and offer relevant output. Users can manage their privacy settings to preserve data privacy similar to Bard and Assistant.

According to The Keyword blog, the AI integration can help manage the to-do list easily, like planning trips, exploring details within a user's inbox, making a grocery list or sending messages. The company added that it is "still an early experiment" and will be available for early testers soon to grab user feedback before making it available to the public.
On a related note, the company also introduced a new Android 14 OS. Speaking of the hardware, Google announced a new lineup of Pixel devices, including the Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel Watch 2 and new colours for the Pixel Buds Pro. The Pixel 8 series and Watch 2 will be available on Flipkart.
