Sony New PS5: Sony's PlayStation consoles are widely popular across the globe. And in the latest move to excite gamers, the Japanese tech giant has announced a new model of its popular PS5 device, which is slimmer than the current iteration and ships with a smaller form factor.

The new PS5 offers support for an attachable Disc Drive and ships with up to 1TB SSD with a read bandwidth (RAW) of 5.5GHz to address storage needs. According to the official blog, the new PS5 has been trimmed in volume by over 30 per cent and in weight by up to 24 per cent. It gets an x86-64-AMD Ryzen 'Zen 2' CPU with AMD Radeon RDNA 2 GPU. The console also offers 16GB GDDR6 RAM.

The model sports two types of cover panels - glossy and matte. Buyers who purchase the PS5 Digital Edition can add the UHD Blu-ray Disc Drive later, which will be sold separately at a starting price of $79.99.
Sony added that several console cover colours shall arrive in early 2024, including the matte Black and Deep Earth Collection (with Cobalt Blue, Sterling Silver and Volcanic Red). These will be sold separately at a starting price of $54.99.
Sony New PS5 Price, Launch Date
The new device will be available from November in the United States via select retailers and direct.playstation.com. Plus, it will arrive in the global markets in the later months. The company added that after the PS5 model is out of stock, only the new PS5 model will be available for sale. In the US, it will start from $449.99 (PS5 Digital Edition) and steep at $499.99 (PS5 UHD Blu-ray disc drive).
