US President-elect Donald Trump on Sunday named Sriram Krishnan, a close aide of billionaire Elon Musk and a former Microsoft employee, as the Senior Policy Advisor for Artificial Intelligence at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.
Taking to Truth Social, Trump said, “Sriram Krishnan will focus on ensuring continued American leadership in AI and help shape and coordinate AI policy across Government, including working with the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology.”

Reacting to his appointment, Sriram wrote on X, “I’m honoured to be able to serve our country and ensure continued American leadership in AI working closely with David Sacks."

According to Krishnan's LinkedIn profile, he has held roles at major tech companies such as Microsoft, Snapchat, Facebook, and X (formerly known as Twitter). Most recently, he served as a general partner at Andreessen Horowitz (a16z).
Krishnan will work along with David O Sacks who will be the White House AI and Crypto Czar. Krishnan pursued his studies at SRM Valliammai Engineering College in Kattankulathur, Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu.
He began his professional journey at Microsoft, where he contributed to the development of Windows Azure, focusing on its APIs and services. He is also the author of the book Programming Windows Azure published by O'Reilly.

Krishnan joined Facebook in 2013, where he played a key role in scaling the company's mobile app download ads business. His career later took him to Snapchat, and in 2019, he worked at Twitter (now X), collaborating with Elon Musk on restructuring the platform.
In 2021, he became a general partner at Andreessen Horowitz (a16z). In 2023, he took on the leadership of the firm's first international office in London.
