Former US President Donald Trump said the Secret Service failed to inform him about his assassination bid even as the agents were aware of this much earlier. "Nobody mentioned it," Trump stated in an upcoming episode of a prime-time show on Fox News. "Nobody said it was a problem," he said.

“[They] could’ve said, ‘Let’s wait for 15, 20 minutes, 5 minutes.’ Nobody said…I think that was a mistake,” Trump added.

The former president questioned how 20-year-old gunman, Thomas Matthew Crooks, managed to climb onto a roof with a rifle just 130 yards from the rally site without intervention from the Secret Service. Reports indicate that police spotted Crooks on the building 26 minutes before the shooting but did not take action, despite being alerted by witnesses. An officer reportedly observed Crooks using a rangefinder and looking at his phone nearly an hour before Trump took the stage in Pennsylvania.

“How did somebody get on that roof?” Trump said. “And why wasn’t he reported, because people saw he was on that roof.” “When you have Trumpers screaming, the woman in the red shirt, ‘There’s a man on the roof,’ and other people, ‘There’s a man on the roof and who’s got a gun’ … that was quite a bit before I walked on the stage. And I would’ve thought someone would’ve done something about it,” Trump said.

During a heated election campaign in the United States, former President Donald Trump narrowly escaped injury when a bullet grazed his ear during a rally in Butler, western Pennsylvania. Trump was swiftly removed from the stage and escorted to his vehicle by Secret Service agents.
