Trump Rally Shooting: Former US president Donald Trump was shot in the ear during a Saturday campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, causing blood to streak across his face and prompting swift action from his security agents. Despite the horrific incident, Trump emerged resilient, raising his fist in the air and rallying his supporters with words of encouragement. Meanwhile, the US Secret Service on Saturday said that the apparent assassination attempt on Trump involved "multiple shots (fired) toward the stage from an elevated position outside the rally venue.”
I just landed and missed an assignation attempt. Holy shit. What a bad ass reaction from Trump. The election is over. He's the next president. The Dems should give up. They can't beat him now. pic.twitter.com/omtbue191d

The US Secret Service confirmed that two people including the shooter and an audience member lost their lives. "U.S. Secret Service personnel neutralized the shooter, who is now deceased," the agency was quoted as saying by CBS News.
Following the incident, the US Secret Service along with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) are working with law enforcement partners to investigate the life-threatening attack on former US president Donald Trump on Saturday, Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro N Mayorkas was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
After the assassination bid, the federal agency personnel immediately escorted the former president out and took him to a safer location. In a statement, Trump’s spokesperson Steven Cheung said.
Reacting to the incident, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said the entire Department of Defense condemns this violence, which has absolutely no place in US democracy.
“This is not the way that we resolve our differences in America and it must never be. I'm relieved that reports indicate former President Trump is safe, and I am praying for him and his family and everyone affected by this appalling incident,” Austin said.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also reacted to the shooting incident that took place during Trump’s rally and said, “Deeply concerned by the attack on my friend, former President Donald Trump. Strongly condemn the incident. Violence has no place in politics and democracies. Wish him a speedy recovery. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the deceased, those injured and the American people.”
