Agra Metro Update: Chief Minister Yogi Aditynath led Uttar Pradesh cabinet has approved the land transfer for Agra Metro Rail Project. The cabinet on March 10 approved land transfer proposals for phases one and two of the Agra Metro. The decision was taken at the cabinet meeting chaired by the CM.

UP Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna said that the cabinet has approved the free transfer of land from the Horticulture and Food Processing Department to the Housing and Urban Planning Department for the first corridor of the Agra Metro Rail Project under the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited.

He added that that 8,684.68 square meters of land, previously under the Horticulture and Food Processing Department, will be leased for 90 years to the Housing and Urban Planning Department at a token rate of Rs 1, with provisions for renewal every 30 years.

The cabinet has also approved the transfer of 20,753 square meters of land from the Home Department for the second corridor of the project. This land will also be leased for 90 years under similar conditions.

Agra Metro TBM ‘Yamuna’ which is deployed in the balance section achieved its 4th breakthrough at the S.N. Medical College Station site. The tunnel construction work for the underground section of the balance corridor of Agra Metro Rail Project is progressing at a rapid pace and this breakthrough marks yet another achievement of team Agra Metro on timely completion of the project, stated an official statement of Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited.

"The finishing works of the underground stations of the balance section namely Medical College, Agra college, Raja ki Mandi and RBS College are being carried out rapidly. With this breakthrough, the tunnel work for the up line from Agra college to S.N. Medical college has been completed successfully," it added.
