Agra Power Supply:Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (DVVNL) has taken comprehensive measures to prevent power shortages in Uttar Pradesh’s Agra district during the summer months. In a bid to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply, the capacity of 900 transformers and nine power sub-stations across the district is being enhanced. Additionally, aging cables and poles will be replaced. A total investment of approximately Rs 84 crore is being made to address power concerns, with work already underway.
DVVNL serves around five lakh consumers in the district, and arrangements have been included in the business plan to provide a stable power supply. Transformer capacity will be upgraded as follows: 16 KVA to 25 KVA, 25 KVA to 63 KVA, 63 KVA to 100 KVA, and 100 KVA to 250 KVA. This upgrade aims to prevent issues like overloading, tripping, transformer failures, and power faults.
In addition, all power substations with installed transformers are undergoing inspections to identify and rectify any deficiencies. The capacity of nine 33/11 KV power substations is also being increased to ensure an uninterrupted power supply, addressing concerns related to low voltage and outages. The capacity enhancement work is expected to be completed by the end of March, ensuring consumers face no difficulties during the peak summer months of April, May, and June. These upgrades are being carried out as part of DVVNL’s business plan.
