Bajrang Dal leader Nitin Mahajan has demanded the removal of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb's tomb in Maharashtra's Sambhajinagar, warning that if the government fails to act, the structure will meet the same fate as the Babri Masjid. Nitin Mahajan on Saturday criticised the ‘worship’ of Aurangzeb’s grave, calling it an insult to Hindu society.

"The grave of Sambhaji’s murderer is being built and worshipped. When such graves are honoured, the society also develops in that manner. At that time, we were helpless, but now Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal are demanding its removal," he stated.

He further declared that on March 17, Bajrang Dal and VHP would formally demand the government to remove the tomb. "We will welcome the government’s decision if they remove it, but if they don’t, we will take to the streets and launch a massive agitation," he warned.

Referring to the Babri Masjid demolition, Mahajan stated, "When the Hindu community agitates for its existence, we know what happens. If the government does not remove the grave, we will carry out ‘Karseva’ and remove it ourselves."

Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Goshamahal MLA T Raja Singh has written to Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, seeking details on funds allocated by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) for the maintenance of Aurangzeb’s tomb.

In his letter dated March 15, Singh questioned the necessity of government spending on the tomb of a ruler accused of destroying temples and oppressing Hindu culture. He sought a breakdown of expenses incurred over the years, including security and maintenance costs.
