In a tragic incident, the wall of a temple collapsed into the Yamuna River in Agra on Monday, leaving at least 4 injured. The incident took place at Agra's Shri Lakshmi Devi temple in the Balkeshwar area.

Initially, it was reported that at least 25 people sitting on the wall swept away and the rescue operation was underway to save them. But, the police have denied such reports, claiming that only 4-5 peole sustained mior injuries and were rushed to the hospital.

However, the rescue operation was underway to save anyone still in the waters. Officials, including the District Magistrate and DCP City, rushed to the site after the incident. MLA Purushottam Khandelwal and Mayor Hemlata Diwakar Kushwaha also reached the spot after te tragic incident

Speaking about the accident, DCP City Sonam Kumar said, "Around 6:30 PM, information was received that in Balkeshwar, a boundary wall behind the temple collapsed along with the roof, and some people drowned."

He added, "Police immediately reached the spot, followed by the administration, MLA, Mayor, and Nagar Nigam officials with their teams. A rescue operation was launched..."

The visuals from the spot showed a paniced situation with dozens of people, police and local administration engaged in rescue and relief efforts.
