The Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday removed Bahraich Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Ram Singh Yadav from his post following his failure to curb continuous wolf attacks in the district. The decision comes after 13 people, including 11 children, lost their lives in such incidents over the past four months.
CM Yogi Takes Strict Action
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed strong displeasure over the persistent attacks during a meeting on Tuesday. He summoned Forest Minister Dr Arun Kumar Saxena to his official residence at 5, Kalidas Marg, and ordered immediate action against officials found negligent in handling the crisis.
Following the Chief Minister's directive, the Forest Department issued orders removing Yadav from his position. He has now been attached to the headquarters as the In-charge DFO (Court Case).
New Appointments
To ensure effective management of the situation:
Sundaresha, previously serving as the DFO of Etah, has been appointed as the new DFO for Bahraich.

Chandni Singh, the DFO posted at the National Chambal Sanctuary Project in Agra, has been given the additional charge of DFO Etah.
Status Of Wolf Attacks
Despite the Forest Department team successfully eliminating seven wolves in the area, attacks have shown no signs of abating. The continuous threat to local residents, particularly children, prompted the state government's intervention to overhaul the local forest administration.
