Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Amul’s Banas Dairy, in Varanasi on Friday. Banas Dairy, the largest dairy plant of Amul, which is built at a cost of Rs 622 crore is expected to provide employment to one lakh people in Purvanchal and open milk collection centres in every village of the region.
The plant, which has a processing capacity of 10 lakh litres per day, will produce milk, ice cream, cheese, khoya, ghee and other milk products. The plant is completely automated and has facilities for artificial insemination, embryo transplant and ambulance for animals of good breeds.
Amul Chairman Shankar Chaudhary said that the plant will benefit cow rearers from Jaunpur, Mau, Ballia, Gorakhpur and many other cities and villages in the state. He said that Amul will pay some percentage of the dividend as a bonus to milk producers at the end of the year. He also said that the company will provide high-quality animal feed and place dairy students in BHU.

Amul Chairman Shankar Chaudhary gave this information during a press conference in Banas Kashi Sankul Karkhiyaon. He was accompanied by Labor Minister Anil Rajbhar, Mayor Ashok Tiwari, MLA Neelkanth Tiwari, Saurabh Srivastava, Dr Awadhesh Singh, T Ram, Sunil Patel, MLC and District President Hansraj Vishwakarma, Regional Minister Dilip Patel, State Media co-incharge Dharmendra Singh, MD Sangram Chaudhary, Executive Director Vinod Bajiya and other officials.

He said that currently storage centres are operational in five districts namely Khushipura, Cholapur, Mirzapur, Ghazipur and Dubeypur. Eight more will become operational by next month. He also said that 1,346 committees have been organised which will also soon purchase cow dung at one rupee per kg.
