Mathura News: The Allahabad High Court has summoned all the records in connection with the change in land ownership of the Banke Bihari Ji Maharaj temple situated in Shahpur village in Mathura, to clarify the status of repeated entries in the revenue records.

In a petition filed by Shri Bihari ji Sewa Trust, Mathura, it has been mentioned that the temple land's ownership was registered in the name of a graveyard in the revenue records in 2004. The dispute reached the High Court, following which, Justice Saurabh Srivastava passed the order of producing all the records on the matter on Thursday.

The petition asked the revenue authorities in Chhata, Mathura, to correct the "illegal" entry made against the graveyard in place of the Banke Bihari Ji Maharaj temple.

In accordance with a previous ruling issued on August 10, the Chhata Tehsildar and other revenue officials appeared in court on Thursday but did not bring the records.

The court ordered that the revenue documents be brought before the next hearing on September 23.

In the last hearing, the state government's counsel drew the court's attention to the fact that another application was also pending since the entries in the revenue records had been changed from graveyard to "purani abadi" as of the time of the hearing.

According to the petitioner, plot no. 1081 in village Shahpur was formerly in the name of Banke Bihari Ji Maharaj temple, as proven by the record of rights 1375-1377F.
