A "rate-card" of a police station in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, alleging corruption at the local level, surfaced on social media, prompting Gautam Buddh Nagar police commissioner Laxmi Singh to launch an investigation, officials said on Thursday.
According to them, the in-charge of a police chowki (police post) connected to the Jewar police station was fired when the charges came to light.
The claims centre on the local police's alleged approval of illegal gambling in the Gautam Buddh Nagar district's Jewar area, where alcohol was allegedly supplied to customers without authorization.

An alleged "rate-card" also surfaced on social media, detailing how much money was provided to various police officers. A "young politician" and "media professionals" were also featured on the list.
"The police commissioner has directed for a probe into the episode," a police media cell official told news agency PTI when contacted. He also added, "The in-charge of the Neemka police chowki has also been removed from the post."
The new allegation of corruption comes only ten days after the police commissioner suspended a police constable stationed in Noida after a video surfaced showing him asking for a bribe of 20,000 from family members of a detained man.
