A private hospital in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, Avon Hospital, was sealed, and an FIR was registered against its operator, Shahbaz, and unidentified doctors on the orders of DM Avinash Singh on Saturday, after doctors left a cloth in a woman’s uterus during a delivery operation.
Tahir Khan stated that on June 3, his pregnant wife Noor Jahan was admitted to Avon Hospital, where doctors performed a delivery through an operation, but the baby did not survive. After remaining admitted for five days, Noor Jahan was discharged; however, she continued to experience severe abdominal pain.

When pus began to discharge from her stitches, an ultrasound was conducted at Ganesh Diagnostic Center and a CT scan at Shubh Diagnostics, both of which revealed that a blood-cleaning cloth had been left inside her uterus during the operation.
This negligence caused a serious infection, and Noor Jahan had to undergo treatment at another hospital, where her life was saved after another surgery was performed to remove the cloth.
Tahir later presented video evidence to the District Magistrate (DM) on Saturday, following which the DM directed Chief Medical Officer Dr. Vishram Singh to take action. Subsequently, a medical team sealed Avon Hospital in the afternoon.
On Tahir’s complaint, an FIR was registered at Bhojipura police station against the hospital operator Shahbaz and unknown doctors under charges of intentionally endangering life, negligence, causing injury, and issuing threats.
In a separate incident, a 11-year-old girl in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, gave birth prematurely to a baby who survived for only 30 minutes at the District Women’s Hospital. Doctors said she suffered heavy blood loss due to her young age but is now stable. The pregnancy was discovered on Thursday after she complained of stomach pain, and an ultrasound revealed she was seven months pregnant.
Police have arrested 31-year-old Rashid, accused of repeatedly raping and blackmailing the girl over several months. He allegedly lured her with fruit, filmed the assaults, and threatened her family. Married with two children, Rashid faces charges under rape and the POCSO Act. DNA samples from the baby have been collected to establish paternity. Hospital officials confirmed the girl was critical at delivery but is now improving.
