Patients at BRD Medical College will now receive their blood test results much faster, thanks to the installation of two new advanced machines in the pathology department. This major upgrade is set to triple the lab's testing capacity, drastically reducing waiting times and allowing for quicker and more accurate treatment.

How the New Machines Boost Speed

The new technology provides a significant efficiency boost:

Biochemistry Tests: The machine for testing kidney, liver, diabetes, and cholesterol can now process 400 samples per hour, up from the old capacity of just 150.

Diabetes (HbA1c) Tests: The new machine for HbA1c tests, which measures the three-month average blood sugar level, can perform 50 tests per hour, more than double the old machine's rate of 20.

According to the management, tests that previously took four hours will now be completed in just one hour.

From A Week's Delay to Same-Day Treatment

This upgrade will solve a major problem for the roughly 3,000 patients who visit the hospital's Outpatient Department (OPD) daily.

The Old Problem: Patients would spend hours on registration, consultation, and paying fees. By the time they gave their blood sample, it was often noon, and reports were not ready until the evening. Because OPD doctors change daily, patients often had to wait up to a week for the same doctor to be on duty again, delaying the start of proper treatment. Emergency patients also faced a 5-6 hour wait for results.

The New Solution: With reports now available within an hour, most patients can consult the doctor with their results on the very same day. This ensures that the correct medication and treatment can begin immediately without any delay.

Hemophilia Testing Will Now Be Available

In another major step forward, BRD Medical College will soon offer hemophilia testing. Currently, this test is not available at any government hospital in the region, forcing patients to travel to Lucknow.

A dedicated lab for this purpose is now under construction at the college. Once complete, local patients suspected of having hemophilia will no longer need to travel out of the city for a diagnosis.

Now, patients will get their reports within an hour. Additionally, construction for the new hemophilia testing lab has also begun."
