The Yogi Adityanath government has recently approved proposals for the consolidation of 378 more villages in Uttar Pradesh. According to Consolidation Commissioner GS Naveen Kumar, a notification has been issued to conduct the consolidation, after the government approved a proposal related to the consolidation of four of the 378 villages.
He informed that the process of issuing a notification in 378 villages is in the process. Earlier in July, notification was issued for 137 villages. He also stated that the state government has proposed to conduct artificial intelligence, blockchain, drone, and rover survey-based consolidation in order to speed up the process in the interest of the farmers.
The following measures will ensure error-free work with transparency. According to the Commissioner, under the Consolidation Act, new land in 148 villages was handed over to their legitimate landowners. Also, a release was issued this month, completing the consolidation process of 24 villages.
Previously, a mandate was issued mentioning consolidation in 137 villages of 29 districts of UP. Out of these, notification for the first round of the process was issued in 51 villages of 15 districts. The notification for the second round of consolidation was issued in 86 villages of 20 districts. The Revenue Department is the mandate after the UP government sent a 'green' signal for the same.
What Is Consolidation?
The land is frequently split when a family grows in rural places. Aside from that, the purchased and ancestral lands are in distinct locations. As a result, farmers encounter numerous challenges in their farming operations. Also, as time passes, the number of complaints in the villages, such as land disputes and encroachment on government land, begins to rise. As a result, the government consolidates after a set period of time.
Consolidation brings scattered farms together in one location so that farmers can readily practice modern farming.
