To facilitate the movement of people for Chhath Puja, 22 Pooja Special trains will be run from various stations of the North Eastern Railway, including Gorakhpur, on October 24.

Major Pooja Special Trains Running From Gorakhpur Today

- 05131 Gorakhpur-Bahraich Pooja Special will depart from Gorakhpur at 05:25 am and will run via Anandnagar, Barhni, and Gonda.

- 05049 Chhapra-Amritsar Pooja Special will depart from Chhapra at 10:15 am and will run via Thawe, Gorakhpur, Gonda, and Sitapur.

- 06530 Gomti Nagar-Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal, Bengaluru Pooja Special will depart from Gomti Nagar at 12:20 pm and will run via Gorakhpur, Bhatni, Mau, and Banaras.

- 09430 Gorakhpur-Sabarmati Pooja Special will depart from Gorakhpur at 01:00 pm and will run via Gonda, Barabanki, and Kanpur Central.

- 01080 Gorakhpur-Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (Mumbai) Pooja Special will depart from Gorakhpur at 14:30 (2:30 pm) and will run via Gonda, Kanpur Central, and ViranganaLakshmibai Junction (Jhansi).

- 05056 Barhni-Asansol Pooja Special will depart from Barhni at 04:00 pm and will run via Gorakhpur, Thawe, and Khaira.

- 05634 Gorakhpur-Narangi Pooja Special will depart from Gorakhpur at 04:55 pm and will run via Siwan and Chhapra.

- 01416 Gorakhpur-Pune Pooja Special will depart from Gorakhpur at 05:30 pm and will run via Gonda, Lucknow, Kanpur Central, and ViranganaLakshmibai Junction (Jhansi).

- 04730 Gorakhpur-Sri Ganganagar Junction Pooja Special will depart from Gorakhpur at 07:30 pm and will run via Barhni, Gonda, and Sitapur.

- 04830 Gorakhpur-Jodhpur Pooja Special will depart from Gorakhpur at 11:25 pm and will run via Basti, Ayodhya Dham Junction, and Lucknow.

People from Delhi, Punjab, Maharashtra, And Gujarat Arriving In Gorakhpur

People from Purvanchal and Bihar, coming home from Delhi, Punjab, Maharashtra, and Gujarat for Chhath Puja, have started arriving in Gorakhpur. There is a large crowd of migrants at the railway and bus stations. On Thursday, trains like Gorakhdham, LTT, Raptisagar Cochin, Bagh, and Pune Express arrived in Gorakhpur completely full. There was no space to stand in the general and sleeper coaches. Security forces helped the passengers disembarking from the train to exit the station.

Some passengers left for home on the Chhapra and Varanasi Intercity trains, while many took the Narkatiaganj passenger train. Most passengers departed for their homes by bus. The frequency of local buses already running on the Tamkuhi, Padrauna, and Deoria routes from the bus station has been increased. Buses carried passengers from the station to the Bihar border until late at night. Buses arriving from Delhi, Kanpur, and Lucknow are also reaching Gorakhpur completely full. The Transport Corporation is running 210 additional buses from the Gorakhpur region.

Unreserved Pooja Special To Run Between Gorakhpur And Howrah

An unreserved Pooja Special train will run for one trip between Gorakhpur and Howrah. According to Chief Public Relations Officer Pankaj Kumar Singh, train number 03047/03048 Howrah-Gorakhpur-Howrah Unreserved Pooja Special will run from Howrah on October 26 and from Gorakhpur on October 27. This train will depart from Howrah at 04:50 pm. It will depart from Gorakhpur at 01:00 pm, run via Deoria and Chhapra, and reach Howrah at 08:30 am the next day.

  • On October 25, 74 berths in AC II Tier, 330 in AC III Tier, and 377 in Sleeper Class.
  • On November 1, 64 berths in AC II Tier, 273 in AC III Tier, and 93 in Sleeper Class.
  • On November 8, 75 berths in AC II Tier, 347 in AC III Tier, and 374 in Sleeper Class.

- 08630 Gorakhpur-Ranchi Special:

  • On October 26, 09 berths in AC II Tier, 40 in AC III Tier, and 469 in Sleeper Class.

- 03678 Gorakhpur-Dhanbad Special:

  • On October 27, 73 berths in AC II Tier, 88 in AC III Tier, 399 in AC III Economy, and 146 in Sleeper Class.
  • On November 3, 2025, 62 berths in AC III Economy and 247 in Sleeper Class.
  • On November 10, 78 berths in AC II Tier, 96 in AC III Tier, 403 in AC III Economy, and 324 in Sleeper Class.

- 04021 Gorakhpur-New Delhi Special:

  • On November 8, 18 berths in AC First Class, 72 in AC II Tier, 348 in AC III Tier, and 280 in Sleeper Class.

- 04830 Gorakhpur-Jodhpur Special:

  • On November 7, 40 berths in AC II Tier and 126 in AC III Tier.
