Days after the conclusion of Lok Sabha Election 2024 and the formation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA government at the Centre for the third consecutive time, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Aditryanath is scheduled to visit Gorakhpur today. The chief minister is likely to meet Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) supremo Mohan Bhagwat at an RSS training session. Adityanath always met Bhagwant unofficially whenever the latter visited Gorakhpur. However, there is no official confirmation if Yogi will meet Bhagwat today.
Notably, if Yogi and Bhagwat meet today, this will be the first meeting between the two following the declaration of Lok Sabha Election 2024 results on June 4. The two leaders are likely to discuss issues ranging from the Lok Sabha elections, expansion of the RSS in Uttar Pradesh and other key issues.

The expected meeting comes days after the RSS chief said a true 'sevak' is not arrogant and serves the people by maintaining dignity. However, RSS leaders clarified that the remarks were not directed at the BJP or PM Modi.
The organisation also distanced itself from RSS national executive member Indresh Kumar's claim that the "arrogant" BJP had been halted at 241 seats. In the recently concluded Lok Sabha polls, the Opposition INDIA bloc cut BJP down to size as the saffron party, confident of crossing 400-mark, managed to win only 240 of 543 Lok Sabha seats. The party even failed to cross the majority mark of 272.
The BJP fell short of the majority mark and relied on NDA allies, including TDP's N Chandrababu Naidu and JD(U)'s Nitish Kumar, to form a coalition government at the Centre.
Earlier, Mohan Bhagwat dressed volunteers at the Sangh Karyakarta Vikas Varg Camp, which is being held at SVM Public School in the Chiutaha area. Earlier on Thursday, Bhagwat met with approximately 280 volunteer workers who were in charge of the Sangh's tasks in Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Kanpur, and Awadh districts.
During the training session, the RSS chief stressed increasing the number of branches and expanding the organisation and has also given suggestions on the expansion of various projects being run by the Sangh.
