Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is set to distribute financial assistance worth Rs 21 crore to 431 beneficiaries in Ambedkar Nagar on Friday under the Chief Minister Krishak Accident Welfare Scheme. The initiative, launched in 2019, aims to provide financial relief to farmer families affected by accidental death or disability, with compensation of up to Rs 5 lakh per case.
In the current financial year, the state government has approved all 11,690 applications received under the scheme, with a total disbursement of Rs 561.86 crore earmarked for beneficiaries across various districts.
The scheme's budget has steadily increased since its inception. While Rs 500 crore was allocated in 2020–21, the Yogi government has doubled the provision to Rs 1,050 crore for the current fiscal year, reflecting its commitment to farmer welfare.

Ambedkar Nagar has the highest approved relief amount, with Rs 20.78 crore sanctioned for 431 applications.
Other districts receiving significant allocations include:
-Kushinagar – Rs 19.55 crore (392 applications)
-Kanpur Dehat – Rs 19.51 crore (403 applications)
-Mainpuri – Rs 17.66 crore (355 applications)
-Jaunpur – Rs 17.20 crore (417 applications)
-Etawah – Rs 17 crore (352 applications)
-Hardoi – Rs 15.99 crore (342 applications)
-Lakhimpur Kheri – Rs 15.82 crore (334 applications)
-Sonbhadra – Rs 13.75 crore (307 applications)
-Sant Kabir Nagar – Rs 13.35 crore (280 applications)
The Chief Minister’s Office has emphasised that the scheme not only offers financial aid but also stands as a testament to the government’s support for the state’s farming community.
