Ahead of the upcoming festival season, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed all District Magistrates and senior police officials to ensure complete preparedness, ordering them to take the strictest possible action against troublemakers. In a high-level law and order review meeting held via video conference, the Chief Minister gave a stern warning, stating that police should deal with disruptive elements and harassers "in their own language."

The directive comes as the Chief Minister reportedly expressed strong displeasure over several recent law and order incidents, including the murder of a student by cattle smugglers in Gorakhpur, the death of a youth in an alleged police beating in Ghazipur, a firing incident at a residence in Bareilly, and communal tension in Meerut. He also admonished the alleged collusion of police with cattle smugglers in Kushinagar and noted that complaints continue to emerge from Varanasi despite repeated calls for vigilance.

Focus On Women's Safety And Festival Preparations

A major focus of the meeting was women's safety, with the Chief Minister announcing the launch of the fifth phase of 'Mission Shakti' on September 22, coinciding with the first day of Shardiya Navratri. The month-long campaign will be preceded by a women police personnel bike rally in every district on the evening of September 21 to raise awareness. From September 22, Anti-Romeo Squads will be actively deployed near schools, colleges, and public places.

For the festivals, which include Navratri, Vijayadashami, and Deepavali, the CM instructed that plainclothes police personnel be deployed at puja pandals and other crowded areas. He also mandated that departments ensure cleanliness, uninterrupted power supply, and proper traffic management plans.
