This year's Sharadiya Navratri celebrations in Greater Noida will have a distinct Bengali flavor, especially at the Kalibari temple in Sector Pi-1, which is commemorating the 25th anniversary of its Navratri event.
Grand Pandal And Eco-Friendly Idol
For the first time, a grand pandal is being constructed on the theme of a traditional Bengali temple by artisans brought in from Bengal. To enhance its beauty, the structure will be illuminated with traditional lighting from the famous Chandan Nagar in West Bengal.
The idol of Maa Durga is also being crafted by Bengali artists in Delhi. Standing approximately 30 feet tall, the idol is completely eco-friendly, made using turmeric, soil from Bengal's Hooghly river, flowers like rose and marigold and non-toxic colors. The main pandal is being set up with seating arrangements for 1,500 to 2,000 spectators.
Star-Studded Entertainment And Community Events
Debaki Ghoshal, General Secretary of the organising committee, and Vice President Devarshi Mukherjee announced a star-studded lineup of performers. The event will feature Bollywood singer Vinod Rathore, Bengali film artist Anwesha Dutta, singer Pranay Majumdar, and contestants from Bengal's popular show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa.
The festival will be a community affair with activities for all ages. On the day of Panchami, an Anand Mela will be held with various competitions for women, judged by a panel from the Radisson Hotel. There will also be drawing, traditional song and dance, and sports competitions for children, while special seating and refreshment arrangements are being made for senior citizens.
