Ghaziabad-Kanpur Expressway: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has planned to build a 380-kilometre green field expressway as part of the Green Highway Policy. Ghaziabad-Kanpur Expressway will boost infrastructure of Uttar Pradesh and connect Noida, Ghaziabad and Kanpur. The new expressway will also ease traffic and congestion-related issues. The commuters will save time as it will only take 5 hours and 30 minutes to reach Kanpur from Ghaziabad. Currently, it takes more than eight hours to complete this journey.

Ghaziabad-Kanpur Expressway To Connect Nine UP Districts

After the completion of Ghaziabad-Kanpur Expressway, the route will benefit several districts of Uttar Pradesh. The expressway will connect nine districts in the state. These include Ghaziabad, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Kasganj, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Unnao and Kanpur.

According to the media reports, the work of the expressway is expected to be completed by the year 2026 and will have four lanes, which can later be expanded to six lanes depending on future needs. Being a greenfield Expressway, one of the most distinctive qualities is that it encourages greenery.

Preparations To Connect Ghaziabad-Kanpur Expressway To Jewar Airport

There is a plan to connect Kanpur to Jewar Airport in Noida later through this expressway. According to media reports, the northern portion of the expressway will be connected to National Highway 9. From the other end, the southern portion of the expressway will be connected to the 62.7-km long Kanpur-Lucknow expressway.
