A six-month-old foetus was recovered from a toilet pipe in a house in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad on Sunday, police said. The house owner, identified as Devendra alias Deva, discovered the foetus while breaking the pipe to address water stagnation issues.

Upon being informed, Indirapuram police arrived at the scene and interrogated the landlord. He disclosed that the pipe was cut in the morning, leading to the grim discovery. The house reportedly accommodates nine tenants, all of whom have been questioned by the authorities. The foetus has been preserved for further legal and forensic procedures.

DNA samples from the tenants will be matched with the foetus to identify the individual responsible, Assistant Commissioner of Police Swatantra Kumar Singh stated, as reported by news agency PTI.
