Ghaziabad Blast: A massive fire broke out in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad in the early hours of Saturday after a truck carrying LPG cylinders ignited. The incident occurred at Bhopura Chowk on Delhi-Wazirabad Road in the Thana Teela Mod area, triggering a series of loud explosions which were heard even five-six kilometres away from the incident spot. 

According to officials, the incident was reported around 4:30 am. The fire rapidly spread to nearby structures, including a wooden godown and multiple houses. Fire tenders were deployed and the police evacuated residents from the vicinity as a precautionary measure.

Chief Fire Officer (CFO) Rahul Kumar stated that fire brigade teams were present at the site, but continuous blasts made it difficult for them to approach the truck. "The sound of the cylinder explosions could be heard for several kilometres," he added.

Videos captured from 2-3 km away show the intensity of the blasts. CFO Rahul Pal confirmed that the fire, which had also affected vehicles, was completely extinguished. He added that no casualties have been reported.

The cause of the fire remains unknown and authorities are investigating the incident. Further updates are awaited.
