A plane in Philadelphia crashed on the road just after taking-off on Friday evening (Philadelphia local time), resulting in many casualties and panic among the locals. The plane carried at least two people and crashed in the vicinity of a the Roosevelt Mall that led to multiple casualties on the ground. The authorities confirmed on social media that there was a "major incident" in the area of crash, however they did not provide any details.

In a post on X, city's emergency management office informed that there was a major accident in the area. The authorities also urged the residents to stay away from the area. "Major incident near Cottman and Bustelton Avenues in Northeast Philadelphia across from Roosevelt Mall. Roads closed in area including parts of Roosevelt Boulevard. Avoid area," the office posted on X.

A video has also emerged on several social media platforms that showed the magnitude of the accident as several houses could be seen on fire. The locals panicked and called out for help as soon as the accident took place. Many firefighters and emergency teams could be seen on the location, trying to control the fire.
The flight data stated that a small jet disappeared from radar about 30 seconds after taking off after climbing to an altitude of 1,600 feet, reported the Associated Press. The accident site is almost 4.8 kilometers from Northeast Philadelphia Airport. The airport is generally used by business jets and charter flights. Several of the locals said that they thought they were under attack after listening to loud explosions; however, it was later confirmed that it was a plane crash.
The incident happened just a few days after one of the deadliest plane crashes of the country's history. A passenger jet in Washington DC collided with an Army helicopter while approaching Ronald Reagan National Airport. The authorities stated that all 64 people onboard the jet and three people on the helicopter died in the crash.
