The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has demolished an unauthorised colony being illegally developed on 10 bighas of land in Ator Nangla village, Zone-1. The action was carried out under the instructions of GDA Vice-Chairman Atul Vats.
Officials said that interlocking tiles had been laid on agricultural land as part of the illegal colony, which were removed and demolished using a bulldozer. Residents present at the site protested, but the police, deployed with the enforcement team, dispersed the crowd and warned that strict action would follow if illegal plotting was attempted again. The public was also cautioned against buying plots in the colony to avoid financial losses.

Meanwhile, in Modinagar, illegal colonisers continue to flout GDA’s demolition drives. They reportedly resume construction immediately after demolition, showing little fear of enforcement action.
A video circulating online shows construction restarting just a day after a demolition. Similar incidents have been reported in Kadrabad, Hapur Road, Abupur, and Niwari Road, highlighting ongoing challenges in curbing illegal developments.
