Ghaziabad: Section 163 BNSS Imposed Until February 16; Check Key Restrictions For Festivals

The Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) has imposed Section 163 of the BNSS (Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita) in the district in view of upcoming festivals and events. This section will remain in force until midnight on February 16, 2026 to maintain law and order.

Reason For Enforcement And Key Festivals

This decision has been taken keeping in mind various religious and cultural programmes, including the upcoming Republic Day, Guru Ravidas Jayanti, Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati Jayanti and Mahashivratri.

Prohibitions On Public Gatherings And Demonstrations

During this period, the gathering of more than five people in a public place, and organising processions, sit-ins, demonstrations, rallies or meetings without permission will be prohibited. Any act that spreads caste-based or communal tension will be completely prohibited.

Restrictions On Weapons, Materials And Drone Usage

Strict action will be taken against collecting weapons, explosive materials, stones, bricks, bottles, and flammable substances without prior permission. Filming with drones around government offices will be completely prohibited.

Guidelines For Hotel Operators And Petrol Pumps

Hotel operators will not provide rooms to anyone without identity verification. Petrol pumps will be prohibited from selling petrol and diesel in containers, apart from directly into vehicles.

School Holiday Announced For Makar Sankranti

Holiday in all schools on Thursday The Uttar Pradesh government has issued an order regarding a holiday for Makar Sankranti. Today will be a holiday in schools.

Scope Of School Closure And Compliance

The holiday will be observed from nursery to class 12 in all council, aided, unaided, government, CBSE, ICSE, and other board-affiliated schools in the district. District Basic Education Officer OP Yadav has directed all concerned schools and officials to ensure strict compliance with the order.
