A dispute regarding the feeding of stray dogs escalated into a confrontation between two young women and residents of the Brahmaputra Enclave Society in Siddharth Vihar, Ghaziabad. The incident has led to cross-complaints being filed at the Vijay Nagar police station.
The Incident And Allegations
On Thursday, the two women approached the Vijay Nagar police station to file a complaint against several residents.
Assault Charges: The women alleged that when they attempted to feed stray dogs—an act they perform on humanitarian grounds—residents not only opposed them but also physically assaulted them and tore their clothes.
Recurring Issue: The complainants stated that they have faced continuous opposition from society members and have been assaulted over this issue in the past, for which they had previously registered a complaint.

Residents' Stand And Counter-Claims
Conversely, a group of society residents also visited the police station to demand action against the young women, accusing them of harassment.
Safety Concerns: Dharmendra Gurjar, President of the Apartment Owners Association (AOA), stated that residents are distressed by the stray dog menace.
Dog Bite Statistics: Gurjar claimed that approximately 20 people have been bitten by dogs in the society within the last month.
Police Action
ACP Kotwali, Ritesh Tripathi confirmed that complaints have been received from both parties. He stated that an investigation is currently underway, and further action will be taken based on the findings of the inquiry.
