A gangster identified as Rajesh Shah, from Ghaziabad’s Khora area, was arrested in Noida’s Sector 10 on Monday, April 22, for possessing 6.2 kilograms of illegal marijuana, valued at approximately Rs 65,000. Shah, a resident of JJ Colony in Sector 10, Noida, has a criminal background spanning nearly a decade.
Rajesh has been involved in drug trafficking since 2016 and was previously arrested for a similar offence in Noida’s Sector 49. Despite being jailed, he resumed his illegal activities and was later re-arrested by Sector 20 police. After serving time, he relocated to Khoda in Ghaziabad, where he formed a gang and expanded his criminal operations to include theft and robbery.
In January 2018, he was involved in the theft of a mobile phone and cash from a local resident’s room in Khora. The following month, he stole a laptop, three mobile phones, an Aadhaar card, and Rs 6,000 in cash from another house.
Three days later, Khora police apprehended Rajesh along with two accomplices, Sirajuddin and Gaurav. Both Rajesh and Sirajuddin were booked under the Gangster Act. Currently, Rajesh Shah faces a total of seven criminal cases registered across Ghaziabad and Noida.
