Testing services are set to begin shortly at the newly established pathology laboratory in Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath AYUSH University, Gorakhpur. Patients will be able to undergo more than 100 tests at affordable rates, officials said.
In the first phase, the lab will provide facilities for 56 different tests. A specialist team is currently inspecting and calibrating the advanced equipment to ensure accuracy. Vice-Chancellor Dr K Ramchandra Reddy informed that the services will be launched soon after finalising the list of charges.

According to university officials, the pathology lab is being equipped with German-technology Hematology Part-Five machines. Cytotechnologist Ranjit Kumar Gupta, Lab Coordinator Dr Keshav Gupta, and Lab Technician Punit Shukla have been working for days to ready the machines for operations.
Available tests in the initial round include 18 for CBC, 10 for LFT, 4 for KFT, 5 for Lipid Profile, 10 for urine examination, and diagnostics for RA factor, CRP, malaria, typhoid, viral markers (HIV, Hepatitis B and C), and pregnancy.
The fee structure is currently being finalised. Patients can get tests done on the basis of doctor-prescribed university slips, after payment and receipt generation at the counter. Two trained technicians will handle the testing process.
More than 1,000 patients visit the OPD daily for treatment at the AYUSH University. Until now, Ayurveda, Homeopathy, and Unani treatments were administered largely based on symptoms. The new pathology facilities will allow more accurate diagnosis and improved treatment outcomes.
The Vice-Chancellor said the university has already initiated Panchakarma treatment, set up an in-house pharmacy, launched research with Clinical Ethical Committee approval, and established a modern operating theatre. The pathology lab is now the next step in strengthening healthcare services at the campus.
