The district administration has successfully completed the target for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign, a comprehensive drive to update the electoral roll. In a massive cleanup exercise, the administration has identified approximately 647,759 voters—constituting 17.60 per centr of the district's 3.6 million registered voters—who fall under the ASD (Absent, Shifted, Deceased, and Duplicate) category. Their names are now set to be removed from the electoral list.
Key Statistics: The ASD Breakdown
On average, 160 names are proposed for removal from each of the district's 4,047 booths. The detailed breakdown of the voters to be removed is as follows:

According to Deputy District Election Officer and ADM (Finance and Revenue) Vineet Singh, the highest number of removals will occur in the Chillupar, Khajni and Bansgaon assembly constituencies.
Campaign Extended For Re-verification
While the district target has been met, the statewide deadline for the SIR campaign has been extended by 15 days, now concluding on December 26.
Focus Areas: The extension focuses on re-verifying data, particularly at booths where ASD voters exceed 25 per cent of the total list.
Political Participation: To ensure transparency, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) have been directed to hand over the list of ASD voters to Booth Level Agents (BLAs) appointed by political parties for independent verification. In the absence of a BLA, the list will be provided to relevant party officials.
High-Level Review: State Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa issued these instructions during a video conference review on Tuesday evening.
Correction Facility For Existing Voters
Deputy District Election Officer Vineet Singh confirmed that the Election Commission has introduced an 'edit' facility for BLOs this time to ensure accuracy.
If incorrect or incomplete information was entered in the enumeration form, voters can meet their BLO to have it corrected even after submission.
This measure aims to maintain a transparent and error-free electoral roll.
New Voter Registration
The administration is also processing applications for new voters, including youths turning 18 by January 1, 2026 and residents previously left out.
Process: New names will be added to the roll after the SIR campaign concludes.
Status: Approximately 20,000 online applications have been received via the Election Commission’s website and are currently under verification.
Forms: Addressing reports of a shortage of Form 6 (required for new voters), officials stated that more forms are being made available to BLOs.
Official Statement
District Magistrate and District Election Officer Deepak Meena said,"The 100 per cent target of the SIR campaign in the district has been achieved. Now, ASD voters are being re-verified to ensure that no eligible voter's name is left off the electoral roll. The list of ASD voters is also being provided to the BLAs appointed by political parties. They are being urged to also conduct verification at their own level."
