The Gorakhpur Development Authority (GDA) will construct three additional community halls (Kalyan Mandapams). The construction of these new halls is proposed for the following locations:
Ward No. 10, Madhav Nagar
Ward No. 54, Urvarak Nagar
Ward No. 80, Basharatpur (Rapti Nagar)
The foundation stones for these three projects were laid by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on the occasion of Navratri.
Completed And Upcoming Venues
This new initiative follows the completion of other community halls by both the GDA and the Municipal Corporation.
Ready For Operation: The GDA and the Municipal Corporation have each inaugurated two community halls. Firms have been selected to operate these venues, which will be ready for ceremonies starting from the next wedding season.
Municipal Corporation locations: Khorabar and Surajkund dham Nagar.
GDA locations: Manbela and Raptinagar.
Near Completion (Jungle Tulsiram Bichhia): Construction of a two-storey community hall in the JangalTulsiramBichhia area of Ward No. 22 is also nearly complete.
Cost: Rs 1.90 crore
Area: 1,120 square metres
Facilities (Ground Floor): A 326 square metre hall with a capacity for 225 people, a 14.50 square metre kitchen, a store, an office room, and toilets for men and women.

Facilities (First Floor): Another large hall covering 458 square metres, two rooms with attached toilets, and additional toilets.
