UP Chief Minister's Jan Se Buses are set to run on 11 routes in the Gorakhpur region (Gorakhpur and Basti divisions) on the New Year. The Lucknow headquarters has given the green light for the operation of these buses.
Following directives from the headquarters, the Transport Corporation has started preparations to run the buses. The operation of the Chief Minister's Bus Service will ease travel from rural areas to the city.
According to Lav Kumar Singh, Regional Manager, Transport Corporation, the fare for these buses will be 20 per cent lower than that of normal buses.
The Transport Corporation has decided to run at least one bus on each of the identified routes in the Gorakhpur region. The frequency of the buses will be increased based on passenger numbers and demand.
Currently, people face difficulties due to the lack of bus services on major rural routes. The problems for those travelling from villages to towns and cities have been increasing. In this situation, the Chief Minister's Public Service Bus will provide relief to the people.
