Commuters in Gorakhpur will soon benefit from modern, comfortable bus shelters as the Municipal Corporation, in collaboration with Gallant Ispat Limited, has approved their construction at four major locations. The initiative aims to provide relief to passengers from harsh weather conditions and enhance convenience while waiting for buses.
The Municipal Corporation Board has cleared the proposal, and construction work will begin shortly. The new shelters will be set up at Gorakhnath Road, Yatayat Tiraha, Carmel School Mor, and opposite the Rail Museum, areas identified for their high passenger traffic and accessibility.

According to officials, the upcoming shelters will feature a modern design equipped with comfortable seating, information boards displaying bus details, and sufficient lighting to ensure safety during nighttime.
“Passengers waiting for buses often face difficulties, which we are trying to address. The board has approved the construction of bus shelters at four city locations with the support of a private organisation,” said Additional Municipal Commissioner Nirankar Singh.
Authorities believe this public-private collaboration will contribute significantly to improving urban infrastructure and enhancing the city’s commuter experience.
