In view of the Durga Puja and Dussehra festivities, the Gorakhpur police and administration have implemented special traffic arrangements to manage crowd movement and ensure safety. The diversions will be in effect from Tuesday until October 1, between 5 PM and 2 AM

According to SP Traffic Rajkumar Pandey, heavy vehicles arriving from other districts will be rerouted through alternative roads:

-Vehicles from Lucknow, Basti, and Sant Kabir Nagar heading towards Nausad will use the Kalesar, Jungle Kaudia, and Baghagada four-lane road.

-Lorries from Varanasi and Barhalganj will take the bypass towards Maharajganj and Sonauli.

-Oil and gas tankers from Deoria will move via the Khorabar bypass through Naukayaan and Padleganj.

-Heavy vehicles from Frenda and Siddharthnagar will be diverted from MP Polytechnic crossing towards the Sports College, then via Khajanchi crossing, Padri Bazaar, and Jail Bypass.

In case of congestion, vehicles entering the city will be further redirected from Padleganj, Hanuman Mandir Bypass, Zoo Road, and TP Nagar.

Parking arrangements have been made for light vehicles of visitors arriving via Padleganj Road and the railway underpass, with spaces provided on Railway Museum Road. Movement of heavy vehicles from Harbert Bandha to Sahabganj Mandi will be restricted.

Vehicles in Golghar will be redirected via Police Lines, and e-rickshaws and other commercial vehicles heading towards Gorakhnath Temple will follow alternative routes.

SP Traffic Pandey clarified that ambulances will be exempt from these diversions to ensure emergency services are unaffected.
