The Municipal Corporation is preparing to beautify seven major city intersections using funds from the Smart City project and the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP).

The initiative aims to improve the city's roads, reduce traffic pressure, and enhance aesthetics. The plan focuses on redesigning and managing intersections to smoothen traffic flow, particularly at busy junctions like Paidaleganj, Nausad, and Mohaddipur, which suffer from significant congestion.

Municipal Commissioner Gaurav Singh Sogarwal has instructed the concerned officials to finalize all Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) soon.

Project Status And Funding

The seven intersections are being processed under two different programs:

1. Smart City Project (5 Intersections)

Proposal Sent: A proposal for three intersections—Paidaleganj, Nausad, and Suba Bazar—has already been prepared and sent for approval.

DPRs In Final Stages: The DPRs for two additional intersections, which will also be sent to the Smart City project, are nearly complete.

2. National Clean Air Programme (2 Intersections)

DPRs In Final Stages: The proposals for the remaining two intersections are being finalized and will be sent under the NCAP.

The four intersections currently in the final DPR stage are Mohaddipur, University Chowk, ChhatrasangS, and Shastri Chowk.

Planned Improvements

The corporation's objective is to revamp the traffic system while also beautifying the junctions. The plan includes:

- Proper guidance indicators for drivers.

- Attractive lighting.

- Fountains.

- Greenery.

- Seating arrangements.
