Gorakhpur To Get High-Tech Open Gyms In 20 Parks; Check Key Locations

Residents across several localities in Gorakhpur will soon have access to modern exercise facilities, with the Municipal Corporation set to develop high-tech open gyms in 20 parks across 16 wards. The administration has approved the proposal to build these gyms for Rs 2.53 crore, and the facilities are expected to be ready within three months of tender issuance.

According to Municipal Corporation officials, each park will be equipped with state-of-the-art fitness machines suitable for all age groups. For safety, the gym areas will be fenced to prevent unauthorised entry, and special mats will be installed to reduce the risk of injury.

The Municipal Corporation had submitted the proposal nearly three months ago. Following administrative approval, the required funds have now been released, clearing the way for construction and installation to begin shortly.

Mahadeopuram Colony (near Shubham Hospital), Divyanagar Colony Park, Malviya Nagar Colony (near water tank), Gayatripuram Colony (near Chandra Hospital, Baba Gambhirnath), Geo Park and Udghosh Park in Chargaon, Indraprastha Colony Park (Chargaon), Litchi Park (Shastrinagar Colony), Rajendranagar West (near Sapphire Lawn), Siddharthpuram Colony Gol Park (Gopalpur), Awas Vikas Colony (opposite house no. 368), Shyam Park (Betiahata), Kanha Upvan (near water tank), Kalyanpur (near Purvanchal Bank), Parshuram Park (Awas Vikas Colony), SBI Colony Park (Atmaram Nagar), Dharamshala (near Reed Sahab’s residence), Katyayani Park, Raptinagar (opposite the residences of Shyamsundar and Sunil Srivastava).

“Approval for the open gyms has been received from the administration, and funds have also been allocated. Construction will begin soon,” said Amit Kumar Sharma, Chief Engineer, Municipal Corporation.
