Amid increasing pollution levels and the enforcement of GRAP Phase-II, the Greater Noida Authority has imposed fines totalling Rs 3 lakh on two private agencies for negligence in maintaining cleanliness on key roads and in Bisrakh village.
During an inspection, officials found piles of garbage, dust accumulation, and poorly maintained stretches on the 130-metre-wide road linking Greater Noida and Greater Noida West, as well as in Bisrakh village. Despite GRAP guidelines being in effect, sweeping had not been carried out properly, and complaints from residents had also surfaced online.
General Manager (Health) RK Bharti stated that a penalty of Rs 2 lakh has been levied on M/s Antony Waste Handling Private Limited for failing to operate cleaning machines and allowing dirt to build up along road dividers. The fine will be deducted from the firm’s next bill, and it has been warned of stricter action for repeat lapses.
Additionally, M/s RR Facilities Private Limited has been penalised Rs 1 lakh for inadequate cleaning in Bisrakh village, where rubbish was found dumped at multiple spots and sweeping was not conducted regularly.
